The officers and members of the Masonic Lodges of Research are pleased to welcome you to our web site. Research lodges are unique in several respects, but share with all Masonic bodies a common goal: to spread light and knowledge, Research lodges carry this goal forward by providing speakers and papers upon request to lodges and other bodies, by moderating panel discussions and debates on topics of Masonic interest, and even by preparing slide, videotape. and dramatic presentations for distribution among the craft. Any Connecticut Master Mason is welcome to visit our research lodge; of course, he is also welcome to apply for affiliation. He will find an active lodge filled with interesting men who will be happy to guide his footsteps toward the specific arm of his interest. We also stand ready to assist if he chooses to prepare papers for use outside the lodge. There are four classes of membership in these lodges; Associate, Active Research, Corresponding and Fellowship. All affiliates enter as Associate members, and advance to Active Research members by producing a piece of original research, Corresponding members are for Masons who are members of a recognized jurisdiction other than Connecticut. The Fellowship is an honor bestowed upon a Master Mason who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship in Masonry. Lodges seeking a program may contact the lodge's Junior Warden for assistance. By long-standing custom, that officer serves his lodge as its Program Chairman. |
